What’s So Special About Women?
What’s so special about women?
We have open arms, soft bosoms, and our necks smell like love.
Women gather in people, animals, and bits and bobbles. We always have a piece of gum, a ponytail holder, a Tylenol, and a cherry chapstick.
Our ears have heard it all — and even more than we ever wanted.
We are the keepers of secrets, stories, songs, dances, memories, and traditions that make children feel held and adults feel seen.
That is not small work.
That is sacred work.
The Way We See
Women see every being as somebody’s somebody.
Once a baby with raspberry lips.
Once a stubborn toddler.
Once a teenager with as much fear as attitude.
And once a man who faltered — but no one knows but her.
We laugh loud.
Whisper knowingly.
Sing rhythmically.
Bounce children.
Shake booties long into the years we feel more utilitarian than sexy.
We grow babies, plants, food, beauty, people, friendships, communities, and cultures.
That’s not accidental.
That’s instinct.
That’s intuition.
That’s spiritual resilience woven into bone and breath.
When we know, we know.
And we are rarely wrong.
The Invisible Load
We create meals, make costumes, build forts, craft decorations, and make homes out of very little and close to nothing.
And somehow make it look easy — even when it’s impossible.
Women accept the weight of many loads that don’t belong to us so that our people have free arms to do the things that make them come alive.
Because when our people are filled with aliveness?
We are happy.
But here’s the quiet truth:
Somewhere between being every woman and no woman at all, we start wondering when and where we left our own True Self behind in order to make magic for everyone else.
And that’s where self worth becomes the work.
That’s where personal leadership begins.
Finding the Woman Within
When we find our True Selves, we spare nothing to help our sisters, soulmates, and circle find theirs.
Because the world does not need perfect women.
It needs honest humans being human.
We are the everlasting question of how to be sweet, selfless, sensual, and dance backward in high heels — and still bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan.
But above all else?
Women are the answer to loving, living, and leading with passion, compassion, wisdom, and wonder.
Especially toward other women.
This is the work I see every day in coaching.
Helping women remember who they are beneath the performance.
Helping high achievers release burnout recovery patterns that were never meant to be permanent identities.
Helping leaders reconnect with instinct, intuition, and the fierce knowing that has always lived inside them.
Happy International Women’s Day.
This is my mom — the most important woman I’ve ever known.
And because of her, I know what it means to love, to live, and to lead with open arms.
