When Friendships End

Friendships end.

We don't talk about that enough.

We have rituals for marriages ending.

We have rituals for careers ending.

We even have language for grieving people we've lost.

But friendships?

Often they simply fade.

Or fracture.

Or change shape.

And we're left wondering:

Was it me?

Was it them?

Was there something I should have done differently?

I recently had the opportunity to share my thoughts with West Michigan Woman Magazine on navigating friendship endings and transitions.

One thing I know for sure:

Not every friendship is meant to last forever.

Some are here for a season.

Some are here for a reason.

And some are here to teach us something about ourselves.

The goal isn't to cling to every relationship.

The goal is to honor what it gave you and continue becoming who you're meant to be.

Have you ever had a friendship end that changed you?
